Essential Piece Enterprises (EPE) offers Work Adjustment Training (WAT), Job Training (JT), Career Exploration (CE), and Job Development and Retention (JDR) services for adult clients through Vocational Rehabilitation (VR). These programs are tailored for clients who need additional training and guidance to enter the workforce or supplement college or technical school courses by gaining skills for employment. Our highly skilled Job Coaches support clients as they engage in coursework at Essential Piece Enterprises, job training, and internships in our community-facing businesses and/or with our community partners.
Programs we offer
The client is developing foundational workplace behaviors and habits needed for employment, with structured support to build readiness, consistency, and confidence in real-world work environments.
FOUNDATIONAL WORK SKILLS
- Demonstrates appropriate workplace behavior, attendance, and punctuality
- Follows directions and completes tasks with increasing independence
- Practices communication, self-regulation, and problem-solving skills
Job Training (JT)
The client is learning specific job-related skills through hands-on training in community-facing businesses, supported by Job Coaches who tailor instruction to individual strengths and goals.
JOB-SPECIFIC SKILLS
- Learns and performs job tasks, tools, and routines
- Follows workplace procedures and safety expectations
- Builds speed, accuracy, and consistency in work performance
Career Exploration (CE)
The client is exploring career interests and strengths through guided exposure to different work environments, helping inform future employment or educational pathways.
CAREER AWARENESS SKILLS
- Identifies interests, strengths, and preferred work settings
- Participates in job sampling and varied work experiences
- Develops understanding of different roles and career options
Job Development & Retention (JDR)
The client is supported in securing employment and maintaining long-term success through job placement, employer collaboration, and ongoing coaching as needed.
EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS SKILLS
- Participates in job search and placement activities
- Builds workplace relationships and adapts to job expectations
- Receives ongoing support to maintain employment and grow professionally
